I love the first photo on this page! It features my great-grandparents Blanche Octavia Huband and Claude Albert Ellis. They look so relaxed and happy. I love their outfits, especially their hats. This photo was taken 21 August 1918, nine months after they married. U.A.C. is likely Utah Agricultural College which was later renamed Utah State University. Here is that lovely first photo:
The other two photos feature friends. First is a photo of “Delora Lake & Bruce.” I’ve previously shared a photo of Bruce as a toddler here, and a photo of Delora prior to her marriage here. The labeling of this photo helps confirm that I identified the correct individuals in the previous photos. Delora appears to be “Hulda Delora Candland” who was married to Lisle Loraine Lake and was the mother of Lisle Bruce Lake. Interestingly, I am related to Lisle Loraine Lake on a different line in my tree.
The last photo features one subject, Neta Weaver. There was a Neta Naomi Weaver who was born in 1896 and lived in North Ogden during this time period. There are no photos on FamilySearch to compare. I have messaged another FamilySearch contributor, hopefully, I can find someone who might recognize Neta!
The handwriting on this page appears to be that of Blanche Octavia Huband with the exception of “Blanche & Claude” which was written by my grandmother, Mary Margaret Ellis.
