Earl Neel is the husband of my great-grandmother’s 1st cousin, Margaret Noble Bevans. Earl was born in Kansas in 1892. He married Margaret in California in 1921. It appears they remained in California for the rest of their lives.
Isn’t this a nice portrait? It’s an 8×10 in excellent condition. I am so happy to have the privilege of sharing it as the photos of Earl on FamilySearch and Ancestry are few. And the few there are, are very low resolution. I hope his descendants will find and enjoy this lovely image.
This photo comes from the thirty-first page of the album. Here are pages thirty and thirty-one to give context for this photo:

Such a great portrait. I’d love to know what colours his tie was; it looks like a paisley pattern.
Thank you, Su! I think you are right about the paisley. 🙂
He reminds me of someone but I can’t quite put my finger on it! I think it’s the eyes and the mouth. It’ll come to me when I stop thinking about it 🙂 It’s a great portrait!
Thank you, Sue! He reminds me of someone too and like you, I don’t know who… 😉
So glad I happened to find this – Lloyd Earl Neel was my paternal grandfather! I am going to email you!
Hello Suzanne! Did you also see the next post that has a photo of Margaret? I haven’t heard from you but look forward to it!
