I really love that first photo!  Doesn’t Aunt Barbara have a great smile?  She is a wonderful person.  I also love that even in profile, my great-grandfather, John Costello, seems to be genuinely smiling.  It’s a slight smile, but it’s a smile.

The backs of these photos share the date and location of this gathering as 16 July 1961 in Yakima, Washington.  I know that my great-grandmother, Mary Brown Young, John Costello’s wife, had a brother named Sandy that lived in Yakima.  I wonder if this photo was taken in Sandy’s home?

I know that the second photo isn’t the most flattering, of anyone, but it certainly adds some details to my small collection of John Costello images.  These photos were shared with me by Aunt Barbara.  I am very grateful.
