RootsTech Salt Lake 2020!

2020Badges_Speaker_851x315px

I am so excited to announce I will be speaking at RootsTech Salt Lake in 2020!  It will be the 10th anniversary of this amazing conference.  I can’t wait to see what they have planned.

I will be presenting the same lecture in Salt Lake that I am presenting in London!  The title of the presentation is, “After the Scan – Online Preservation Your Family Can Find.”

Class description:

Old family photos, letters, and other artifacts are great treasures.  But once we scan them, what do we do with the digital files? How do we make sure that they are easily found and enjoyed by all of our close, distant, and non-genealogist family members?  We will explore simple ways to use social media to help our family see these treasures a bit at a time and regularly feel connected to their ancestors. Then we will consider storage, preservation, and sharing options.  We will learn the OHIO principle – Only Handle It Once – and discuss how we can do it right, do it once. Attendees will leave feeling encouraged to ensure that their preservation efforts will last for generations.

My RootsTechLondon syllabus has been turned in.  My powerpoint is well on its way.  I’ll be having a practice run-through in my local Family History Center in October.

RootsTechLondon is a little less than 10 weeks awayI can’t wait!!

Happy Monday, I hope you have a fantastic genealogy week!!  xoxo

    1. Thank you, Heather! If you can’t make it, they stream sessions live and have a video archive. Here is the current video archive: https://www.rootstech.org/video-archive There are archived videos back to 2015.

Although, there is nothing like being there in person. The energy in the expo hall is awesome! So much to learn. I love it!

    1. Thank you, Alex! I am super excited. This conference is one that I go to anyway so the planning, prep, and travel feels far less intimidating than upcoming RT London. 🙂
