Thomas William Peterson & Lettie Taylor are my 2nd great-grandparents. They were both born in Utah, Thomas in 1872 and Lettie in 1883. They married in 1901 in Salt Lake and went on to have four sons. I descend from their son Rulon.
I love the details of their clothing in these photos. They aren’t dated so I can’t be certain of the occasion on which they were both taken. But that white tie definitely screams special event. What do you think?
I do know that these were not taken at the time of their wedding. I have a photo from that day and Thomas is sans mustache.

I think they look older in the first two photos. What do you think?
Happy Thursday, I hope you make a fantastic photo discovery very soon! If not, I hope you will preserve and share a favorite photo. xoxo
Yep, I also think they are older in the top photos – based on Thomas’ hairline. :o)
Thank you, Lenore! 🙂
I think they look fairly close in age—perhaps the mustache makes Thomas look older. If they are older, it isn’t by more than a few years. Great photo!
Thank you, Amy! I agree, the mustache definitely adds a bit of age to his look, and they definitely aren’t lots older or younger in either photo. 🙂
I love those pictures! My great aunt Lettie was very pretty. Could the 1st two pictures be engagement pics? Or school graduation pictures? My grandmother, the oldest sister, was very small, not tall like Lettie, but there certainly is a family resemblance. Thank you for posting these. And I love the clothing detail!
Thank you, Nancy! Do you remember Lettie very well?
It might only be the light shining on his head in the first picture, but I think he may have lost some hair which also makes him look older along with the mustache.
I see it too! Also, how about that curl? It seems to have a strong will to live. 😉
