This page features two photos of friends and a wonderful photo of my great-grandfather, Claude Albert Ellis, with two cows. I LOVE this image!
The second photo is of a young man named Angus Brown riding a bicycle. I found a good candidate for Angus on FamilySearch. There is an Angus White Brown, (KWJV-LYS), born 1 November 1896 in North Ogden, Weber, Utah who was married to a woman named Manila Berrett.
The third photo includes Arzone Marshall and Nell Berrett and was taken in October 1914. Could Nell Berrett be Manila Berrett, wife of Angus? It seems very possible as Angus and Manila lived in Turlock, California in 1930 a few doors down from Bertha Ann Huband Bevans. Bertha was the paternal aunt of the album creator. It could just be a coincidence that Bertha, from North Ogden, and Angus and Manila, also from North Ogden, all moved to Turlock, California, and lived by each other, but it could also be meaningful.
I also found a good candidate for Arzone on FamilySearch, a man who was named Thomas Arzone Marshall at birth and seen as Arzon Thomas Marshall in the Family Tree on FamilySearch. He was born in 1896 and lived in North Ogden during the time period of the photo.
I’ve messaged a few people on FamilySearch to see if they recognize Angus Brown, Arzone Marshall, and Nell Berrett. I hope someone can help! I would love to add these photos to the correct people on FamilySearch.
Pre-publication update: A great-nephew of Arzone Marshall looked at the album page and confirmed that Manila Berrett was known by Nell. He also knew that Arzone Marshall and Nell Berrett were first cousins (double first cousins actually) and that Nell married Angus Brown. While he doesn’t know what any of them looked like, his knowledge of the people and their connections seems to support my hypothesis for who they might be in FamilySearch. I have uploaded and tagged the photos on FamilySearch with explanatory notes. I requested that any family members who can add information to support or refute the photo tags please contact me.
