RootsTech will be very different this year so it has a lovely new name — RootsTech Connect.
We may not be able to gather physically in Salt Lake City, but the amazing FamilySearch team has been working like crazy to create the biggest ever global genealogy event so that we can all gather virtually. An event where genealogists from all over the world — hobbyists to experts — can connect.
For three days, we can all soak up world-class genealogy education. For free!
This event will have some live elements and lots of pre-recorded educational content. Classes will be different. Most will be short and sweet, about 20 minutes, a few will be the traditional 60-minute classes, some classes will be taught as a series, and there will also be some really short 1–3 minute tip videos. Classes are being taught in multiple languages. There are even a few classes that are being offered in more than one language.
Going virtual removed travel limitations for many expert genealogists. Because of that, the presenters are from all over the world. Learners and teachers separated physically by thousands of miles can connect.
I hope you will join us!
You can register for this amazing event here.
I am delighted to be one of the speakers for RootsTech Connect. I am teaching a three-part series entitled “Beginning French Research for Non-French Speakers.” I can’t wait to connect with genealogists who are just beginning their French genealogy journey!
Happy Monday, I hope you and your loved ones are happy, healthy, and safe! xoxo
I registered! I’ve never been to any genealogy conference because they all required travel. So I am finding another silver lining to the pandemic.
Yay!! I can’t wait to see the full schedule (that is way more complicated when they are relying on instructors to produce their own videos — if the videos don’t work and they are on the schedule that is a problem). Hopefully there will be some classes just right for you! ❤️
I hope so!
They just released the class list. It’s LONG! https://www.churchofjesuschrist.org/bc/content/RootsTech/2021/RootsTech-Connect-2021-Sessions-eng.pdf
Looking forward to your talk as I need to move my research from England to France sometime as there is a family story my GM’s GM was from France. I have disproved this. Perhaps her GGM.
Thank you, Fran! I hope you are able to make the jump. Let me know if I can help. ❤️
