Ellis Album, Photo 75 – Daughters of George & Zilpha Larsen (Updated)

Daughters of George V & Zilpha Larsen
Daughters of George V & Zilpha Larsen, from left to right – Lucinda, June, Zilpha, Jennie, Wanda.

Such beautiful children!  This photo is labeled as the daughters of George V and Zilpha Larsen.

And once again, I have no idea how I am connected to this family.  I did find a George V Larsen married to a Zilpha Lucinda Stephensen on FamilySearch who had a whole passel of children including many, many daughters.  They seem like good candidates for the parents of these children.

Family of George and Zilpha, if you come across this and can shed any light on this wonderful photo, please, let me know!  I would love to hear from you.

DELIGHTFUL UPDATE – I wrote this post in November and uploaded the photo to FamilySearch at that time.  I tagged it to the prospective parents, George and Zilpha Larsen that I found on FamilySearch.  I added this comment, “Are these the daughters of the George V & Zilpha Larsen that I tagged this photo to? Any family insight would be great. I found this photo in an album created by my great-grandmother.”

Five days later, a son of Lucinda tagged each of the girls in the photo.  I sent him a message on FamilySearch thanking him and he replied with this, “Thank you for the photo. I did not have a picture of my mother, Lucinda at that young age.”

Oh joy!!  I love sharing photos and family treasures and what a delight to be able to give that type of gift to a stranger.  Thank you, Grandma Ellis, for your wonderful work preserving these precious photos.  I couldn’t have shared this treasure if you hadn’t first preserved it.  What a great team we make!  ❤️

This photo comes from the thirty-fourth page of the album.  Here are pages thirty-four and thirty-five to give context for this photo:

  1. Such a beautiful photo of these sisters—I hope a descendant sees this and identifies the connection to your family. Merry Christmas, Amberly!

    1. Thank you, Amy! I forgot that this post was already scheduled – I have a really happy edit to make. I uploaded the photo to FamilySearch when I wrote this a while back. I tagged the upper (empty) corners to each of the likely parents and then commented that I thought these were the children of the individuals I had tagged and asked if any family members had any insights on who was in the photo. The son of one of the girls tagged everyone in the photo. I noticed and sent him a message thanking him. This was his response, “Thank you for the photo. I did not have a picture of my mother, Lucinda at that young age.” Oh!! What a joy to be able to give that type of gift to a stranger. It made me even more grateful for Grandma Ellis’ good work. ❤️

  2. That is a lovely photo. The child front left looks very like a friend of mine from primary school (when I was about 5 or 6) – very sweet smile, very shy. 🙂

    Happy Christmas!

    1. Hi Su! Yes, I love those kinds of mysteries as well. But this one needed an update before it posted. Whoops, I’ll go do that in a minute. (I forgot it was scheduled for the 24th, I thought I had another week…) This is what I commented to Amy –

        1. I still don’t know that. But I suppose, in the end, it doesn’t really matter as much as the actual photo matters. She must have cared about them enough to preserve the photo and I was able to share it with the descendants. I think I’ll have to be satisfied with that for now. 😉

          1. It is wonderful that you were able to connect with the descendants. What an amazing Christmas gift for that family. I just have a terrible curiosity about mysteries 😂
