Blanche Lenore Cheney is my 2nd great-grandaunt. She was born 5 January 1886 in Laketown, Utah. She was the youngest of eight children born to Joseph Thompson Cheney and Louise Maria Austin, my 3rd great-grandparents. In 1921, she married Farrel Andrew Whitlock. They had four children that I know of. Blanche passed away 15 February 1971 in Fullerton, California. Blanche was the maternal aunt of my great-grandmother, Blanche Octavia Huband, the creator of this wonderful album. Isn’t this a lovely portrait?
This photo comes from the twenty-seventh page of the album. Here are pages twenty-six and twenty-seven to give context for this photo:

She has a Mona Lisa smile only she’s prettier & I just love her beautiful dress. I think she had naturally curly hair. Mine would look like her’s, if it were long & I tried to style it with water to smooth it!
Thank you, Nancy. Yes, she is very lovely! <3
Very lovely. I really like the blouse and necklace also.
Thank you, Amy! Me too. Everything about her seems so lovely. <3
Lovely. Her clothing is so beautifully tailored. She looks like a woman who would have been worth getting to know. 🙂
Thank you, Su! I couldn’t agree more with all of that! 🙂
Hello,
I believe we have corresponded before. I love this photo of my beloved grandmother Blanche. Yes she did have four children. Donna, Rita, Doris and Wayne. Wayne is my father. They are all gone now. I have been to the Cheney homestead site in Laketown UT. There are still some remnants of their home and “garage”. I have a picture frame made out of the wood from Great Grandpa Cheney’s “garage”/shop.
Hello Daniel, thank you for leaving a comment. It is a lovely photo! What a treasure to have a picture frame made from that special wood. ❤️
