This album page includes photos of friends. The album was created by Blanche Octavia Huband, my great-grandmother.
The first photo is of Harriet “Hattie” Storey, 1895–1982, and Hazel Margaret Berrett, 1894–1991. It was taken in Ogden Canyon in 1914.

A previous page in this album includes a photo that appears to be from the same outing.
The second photo is simply labeled “Mabel Campbell.”

Mabel might be Mabel Estella Warren, 1895–1985, who married Clyde Strong Campbell, 1894–1970. A previous photo in this album included Mabel Warren. In that photo the woman labeled Mabel Warren is wearing a large locket that might be the same one as seen in the photo above. (The link in the previous sentence is to a tagged photo on FamilySearch so you can easily spot the locket.)
Several photos of Mabel on FamilySearch are worth comparing to:
- This photo also includes a large locket.
- This photo shows a similar hairstyle.
- As does this photo.
- And this photo.
The photo in my album does not show Mabel’s face well. However several facts support assigning this photo to Mabel Estella Warren:
- An earlier photo in this album includes Mabel Warren wearing a large locket that may be the same locket in the photo on this album page. That photo was labeled by the album creator with “Mabel Warren.”
- Another photo of Mabel on FamilySearch also includes a large locket that looks similar to the locket in the photo on this page.
- All photos listed above show the same wave pattern in her hair, a similar hairstyle in three photos, and all photos show hair color of the same tone.
This post is part of a series sharing this wonderful old family photo album. You can learn more about the album here. A digital version of this photo album can be viewed on Flickr here.
