RootsTech is coming up in February and I can’t wait! So let’s chat about a few updates, shall we?
First, if you want to go but haven’t purchased a ticket yet, there is still promotional pricing through January 25th. Check that out here.
What about those of you who want to soak up some RootsTech goodness but can’t make it? There are two great things you should know about. First, the free live stream schedule is now available for you to check out and add to your calendar – view that here. Second, you can still watch recorded sessions from 2018 RootsTech here.
RootsTech has begun announcing their keynote speakers. I’m so excited that Saroo Brierley will be the keynote speaker on Friday! His story is amazing!! I haven’t read his book, but I did watch the movie Lion. Wow, what an incredible story of the power of family, memories, and searching for your home. You can learn about Saroo here. If you haven’t watched the movie Lion, I highly recommend it. Just be sure to have lots of tissues handy.
The other keynote speakers that have been announced so far are Patricia Heaton and Jake Shimabukuro. For those attending Family Discovery Day, Elder & Sister Bednar will be the keynote speakers for that event.
The last big announcement I have to pass on is the RootsTech film festival. What a cool opportunity to share part of your story with the genealogy community and win a trip for two to your ancestral homeland!! The deadline to enter is January 30, 2019. What are you waiting for?! Win yourself a trip! 🙂
(Says the girl who entered the photo and story competition last year and won 3rd place and a sweet camera!!)
Happy Monday, I hope it’s an awesome week filled with genealogy goodness! xoxo
ps – sorry it’s been so quiet over here. I know I have several comments to read and respond to. I’m still in the deluge of ancestors pouring right over me on that John Baptiste Jerrain line and I just. can’t. seem. to. stop. researching! Add to that a healthy dose of other life events and I’m just plain behind. I hope you have a happy/merry/joyful/loving whatever-you-celebrate this time of year!! ❤️
