I love hearing people say, “Ooooh!” when I show them something new.
In fact, I sort of live for that moment. Every Thursday and Sunday I work one on one with people on their genealogy. Of all the tricks I have taught people this one is hands down the most simple and popular. Hopefully it helps you make your research time more efficient.
A few things:
- This is my first video tutorial.
- This trick works even if you don’t start your search from Family Tree. You can simply search in the records section of familysearch.org and use this trick to organize the results.
- I’m sorry about the date mistake. If you notice it, gold star for you. 🙂
“Oooh, wow!” Since you can only read it, you’ll have to imagine the audio. I didn’t know those tricks. Thanks for all your hard work for the video. Terrific job. [1940? Wouldn’t have noticed ‘cept for your mention]
Thanks Mary, I’m glad you enjoyed it! I thought it would be easier to do a video than try to write an explanation. And it was. And about that wrong date, maybe I shouldn’t have told on myself. 🙂
Great instructional video! Thank you for that tip!
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it.
Thanks for the tip. I enjoyed listening to your voice so much that I missed the date mistake. 🙂
Thanks Cathy, you made me chuckle when I read this for two reasons. One, I don’t think anyone has ever told me they enjoyed listening to my voice. And two, I have a terrible cold now and lost my voice. 🙂 Glad you enjoyed it.
Great tutorial! You’ve taught me something new! I’ve just wandered back over to Family Search and I’m trying to incorporate some of the info I have on Ancestry now that I can access Ancestry again! I’ve got my work cut out for me. 🙂
Thank you Linda, I’m glad you enjoyed it. It sounds like you and I work about the same way. I research and record in my ancestry tree, then I add it to Family Tree. Good luck!
Wish me luck! I just started trying to add sources and reviewing my mistakes! 😀
Oh, I do wish you luck! I hope it goes well. 🙂
Great video!!! Can’t believe it’s your first!!! I can’t wait to see what you do next 🙂
Thanks Catrina! 🙂
