This poem really has nothing to do with genealogy. At least not on the surface. But I believe Emily Dickinson’s beautiful words illustrate the power of hope. Hope is at the root of our ancestor’s greatest triumphs, their ability to persevere despite terrible circumstances, and their ability to have joy even in the darkest of times.
