This week someone posted a link to Genealogy Gophers on the RAOGK Facebook group. Genealogy Gophers is new to me and I thought I would pass it on.
I found a few things on there rather quickly. It’s not a huge website but it is free. With one small string attached – the first record you click to view takes you to a survey. I was curious what would happen if I clicked “prefer not to answer”. Well, I’ll be darned, it just ended the survey and took me to the image. I only had to deal with that one survey question while I was researching the first time. When I used the website the next time, no survey.
But back to the website. It has a collection of digitized books. Family history books, county books, society books, all sorts of books.
Give it a try and let me know if you find anything good.
Very cool! I found my GGF in a directory I’d not seen before. Not sure what else will be there, but thanks for the tip!
You are welcome Amy!
Thanks!
You are welcome Luanne!
Yes! Thanks! I found some elusive wife info!
You are welcome Elaine! I’m so happy you found something you needed. 🙂
I learned about the site a year ago. I was able to get a family book and newsletters published by the same family association. A few months later they were no longer available. So glad I downloaded the pdf’s asap. Still your post is a good reminder to go back and see if there is anything new. Thanks!
You are welcome Cathy! I’m glad you found some good stuff and got it before it was gone.
